Deborah MacGillivray’s magical writing takes the reader to the place where the action is so the cold, hunger, fear, and a myriad other emotions flood the senses. Most of all, she lets the reader vicariously experience the love of Noel and Skena that encompasses the very best soul mates have to offer each other.

Redemption and the ushering in of a new start take away the grayness of life and bring hope along with clear evidence that dreams and wishes really do come true.

He and his two brothers had each selected a Montgomerie sister to systematically seduce and destroy, and this quiet granddaughter of his enemy was perfect. She lived simply in a cottage in the English countryside, a painter, and socialized only with gypsies and a menagerie of misfits: her fat orange tabby, her one-legged seagull and midget pony. And in addition to beauty, Raven had a delicious vulnerability begging to be exploited. Trev was happy to oblige. In fact, it felt like destiny.

Magic and fate have brought a self-proclaimed wolf to Colford Hall. He’s dressed in a designer suit, drives a Lamborghini Murciélago and apologizes for nothing. And though Trev doesn’t realize it, wolves mate for life.

This is the third book in Deborah MacGillivray's Sisters of Colford Hall Series and it is an enchanting read. The characters are so well depicted they become a part of you as you read this light comedy mixed with emotional drama. You will cry one minute, laugh the next. There is, of course, the usual cat that always graces her books, along with a quirky animal menagerie. A one-legged seagull who is the bane of the hero is just one example.

The story begins with an determined Trevelyn Merchan [disguised as Trevelyn Sinclair] out to destroy the Montgomerie family empire by using Raven, a beautiful and reclusive artist. He finds it easier said than done when he begins to fall in love with the beauty.

Raven, however, is fighting hard to keep her own attraction at bay—a self-protective shield kicking in despite the handsome hero's charms. Charms which even her wary family appear to fall for.

The convoluted but heavenly tale of love and laughter is conveyed with indisputable flair, something I've come to expect from Deborah MacGillivray.

Deborah MacGillivray has delivered a lovely Christmas story.

Noel de Servian is a man who wants a family, a place to be, peace in his life. He is generous and gentle, as well as a fierce and capable fighter, who does not hesitate to protect those he cares about. While he is searching for one glen, he stumbles onto another during a fierce snowstorm. In doing so he finds all that his heart desires and goes from being lost to being found.

Lady Skena MacIain is a widow whose main goal is holding onto the keep, Craigendan, for her children. She fears the Campbell menace as well as Edward I, who may take away her powers and leave her son without an inheritance. Skena is a smart and beautiful—but not in a conventional way. Skena has an inner beauty and self-assurance as well as valor. She braves the elements and finds a knight in the snow and manages to bring him home and keeps him alive despite the odds.

When it appears that Skena’s husband is not dead, mysterious things begin to happen. Intrigue follows quickly as it becomes apparent that something—or someone is plotting Skena's downfall. With her life in danger, she turns to the one man who can help her. Noel, the stranger whose life she saved.

This story has something for everyone and offers mystery, romance, intrigue and excitement.

The 3rd book in the Dragons of Challon series, this is absolutely a book you will want on your keeper shelf. I've read it twice and will likely read it again soon. One of those 'can't-put-it-down kind of books! Honeysuckle highly recommends this wonderful book.

As she comes upon her lost children, they are unable to contain their glee that the Winter Goddess has finally granted their wish of bringing them a strong brave knight to keep them safe. Though skeptical that her children know what they are talking about, Skena follows them to a lump of snow hardly believing what she sees. Below a layer of snow does indeed lay a knight.

This is the third book in the Black Dragon series and Deborah MacGillivray once again endears you to the magic of her characters from the first page to the last with this tale of loss and love. Absolutely magnificent!

My editor at Kensington books now, Audrey LaFehr, emailed me this afternoon that One Snowy Knight sold out completely even before release. They rushed to a second printing of my third Dragon of Challon book this past weekend. Exciting news before the release this coming week!

All three of my Dragons have gone to second print runs, and A Restless Knight is in its third printing.

So I have a lot of thank my first editor, the smart and savvy Hilary Sares for in giving me this chance.

Creative Deborah MacGillivray always tells a great story and this book is no exception as she skillfully weaves her plot to include aspects and characters from the first books in the Sisters of Colford Hall series. Darkly dangerous Trevelyan is a true alpha hero and he meets his match in the seductively bewitching Raven. The subtle paranormal elements are real enough to send shivers down the spine and spur anticipation of what will happen next. Allusions to fairy tales, gypsies and unusual pets including a one legged pelican, a miniature horse and Ms. MacGillivray’s trademark cats add a bit of light hearted wit. A WOLF IN WOLF’S CLOTHING is an entertaining stand alone book but why deprive yourself the treat of the first two books in the Sisters of Colford Hall series, THE INVASION OF FALGANNON ISLE and RIDING THE THUNDER? He has his sights zeroed in on Raven Montgomerie, the beautiful, quiet, and most vulnerable of the sisters.

Raven Montgomerie prefers the quiet life of painting and socializing with gypsies in the English countryside. While she could live in luxury, she chose to live in the estate cottage rather than in the main house of Colford Hall. However she doesn’t live alone. She shares the beautiful country cottage with an odd menagerie of pets; two cats named Chester and Pyewacket, a one-legged seagull named Atticus, and a lively miniature pony named Marvin. (I love these names!)

What Raven needs is a knight in shining armor. Little does this timid woman know, her knight will be riding into her life in a shining Lamborghini Murciélago. Then when Raven and Trevelyan first meet, sparks ignite a fire and the instant he touches her, their fates are sealed.

In this third installment of the Sisters of Colford Hall series, I found myself completely absorbed in the story of Raven and Trevelyan! I have read the other two in the series and even though I completely enjoyed them, I have to say A Wolf in Wolf’s Clothing is by far my favorite! A magical love story that even includes a ghost named Annie. (Great name!)

Ms. MacGillivray has a talent for creating stories that clutch the hearts of her readers and in A Wolf in Wolf’s Clothing, you won’t be disappointed. She has woven a tale of passion, love, and desire that grips you from the first page to the very end.

The Mershan brothers plot to take over the Montgomerie clan by seducing the sisters, while quietly buying up all the stock in the family's company, is finally in the final stretch. Trevelyn's focus on destroying the relatives of the man who ruined his life as a child is all he has concentrated on for as long as he can remember. For his part, Trevelyn has chosen Raven, the eccentric artist sister. However, to his dismay, he is more interested than he wants to be in her, and the fates seem to have a hand in pushing them together. He is unable to resist the powers- that-be to become her knight-in-shining-armor.

Raven Montgomerie is unlike the rest of her family with their designer clothes and fancy cars and reside in the large manor on their estate. She lives in the cottage by herself with her unusual collection of pets and her artwork, perfectly happy driving an old MG that runs only sometimes. For the past weeks, she has put all of her time and energy in a charity auction her family is putting on for a local orphanage. Now that the big night is here, she receives a unique fortune teller machine for a birthday gift, but the fortune it tells is confusing -- until a mysterious man becomes her saving grace.

The third book in this fabulous series is witty and sensual with laugh-out-loud moments that make it thoroughly enjoyable. Definitely a must-read!

Trevelyn Sinclair Mershan is one of three brothers who have a plan. Years ago their father committed suicide due to Sean Montgomerie causing the Mershan family to become extremely poor. Though Sean recently died, the Mershans are preparing to do a hostile takeover of the Montgomerie businesses. To get closer to the family, each brother is going after one of the Montgomerie sisters. Trevelyn is posing as Trevelyn Sinclair, a wealthy businessman who has decided to work out of the small town the Montgomeries live in.

Raven Montgomerie is a divorced painter that lives on the edge of her family’s estate in a smallish thatch cottage. She shares her cottage with a couple of cats, a one leg seagull and a miniature horse. She’s content with her life and has no desire to date or become involved in the Montgomerie business ventures. The one thing she does do is attend a gala for orphans. As part of the decorations, Raven has lent her birthday present from one of her sisters, a mechanical gypsy tarot card reader. When she puts her coins in to see if its working, her card warns her to beware of a wolf.

Raven’s ex shows up at the gala with his very pregnant new wife and starts by harassing Raven. Trevelyn comes to the rescue by appearing to be Raven’s late arriving date. Could Trevelyn be the wolf Raven was warned about especially when he calls her Red Riding Hood?

Trevelyn finds Raven is more than a means to a goal but can he stop the plan that he and his brothers have already started? Are the tarot cards that Raven and Trevelyn connected to their lives or are they just a coincidence? What are these flashbacks that Trevelyn suddenly gets? Will love or family win out?

This was such a fun book to read. The characters were very well done. The situations that they found themselves in were believable. The feelings expressed were perfect.

The characters had depth. Raven and Trevelyn had interactions with their families as well as each other giving a very well rounded feel to them. They weren’t perfect people either making them easy to relate to. Raven’s large family played a significant role in this story and though there were lots of characters each had their own personality allowing readers to distinguish them from each other. Even the tarot card reader seemed to have a major role in the story and interacted with Raven and Trevelyn. Could she really predict the future?

Who hasn’t had someone make them uncomfortable in a social setting or done something they wish they hadn’t? These types of situations are found throughout this story and they make the characters feel as though they could be one of us. Trevelyn is even allergic to Raven’s cats! These everyday fallacies keep this story real.

Poor Trevelyn is being pulled between his growing feelings towards Raven and his loyalty towards his brother. He gets further stressed as his mother lies at death’s door and he needs to leave Raven behind and deal with his brothers. To add a little comic relief, Raven’s youngest sister is after one of Raven’s best friends, a very talented Gypsy.

This was a fantastic story that I really enjoyed. Due to the way it was written, I’m assuming that this is not the last time that we’ve seen the Mershan brothers. It seems that Trevelyn’s brothers are having their own issues with Raven’s sisters.

I followed this book in the American Title contest, rooted for it because it was so much fun! Thus, I was glad to see Dorchester Publishing had finally picked it up and put it out so everyone could find how the rest of the book went. It’s a charming, light-hearted story, one that gives you smiles to reach through your whole body to your heart. I’ve been recently told by a doctor to laugh and smile often, that it’s vital to your health - so reading Barbie and the Beast is like taking a bottle of high potency vitamins.

Barbie, as you can imagine, has heard every joke there is about her name and tends to be a little touchy about that. Especially a sore point - there is no “Ken” in her life. She’s a tad uptight after a lifetime of ribbing, thus it’s highly unusual to find her trekking through Forest Lawn Cemetery for a singles party. Yet, that is precisely what she’s doing. She and her best friend, Angie, have made a pact to try anything to find Mr. Right. Why not a singles mixer at graveside? One minute everything is normal - well, as normal as one can expect in trying to find pick up dates amongst the dead and buried. The next, Barbie finds herself picked up - and tossed over a man’s shoulder! Being typically female she’d hoped to get swept off her feet, but not quite so literally!

Darin Russell is everything a woman might hope for in a boyfriend - and a bit more. He’s also been looking for Ms. Right, and the animal in him is stirred by Barbie, so he makes his moves to claim her. However, Darin has a few secrets he must reveal to Barbie that might see that “true love never runs smooth.”

Ms. Thomas-Sundstrom gives you an intelligently witty tale, with sparkling characters and an absolutely fun read. So do yourself a favor, read this book and give your health a shot in the arm!

The saddest part of ageing is seeing the ones we adored pass. Patrick McGoohan was a hero of mine. I recall watching him when I was so small, first at The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, then as sauve John Drake in Danger Man/Secret Agent, then in the highly imaginative The Prisoner in the late 1970s. No single small series has ever generated such discuss and debate.

McGoohan was a rogue. Refused the offer of play James Bond, often professed he didn't indugle in vices on screen that he didn't do off screen. I laughed, wondering if that included murder, as he had managed a few of those over the years.

McGoohan was bloody handsome, with intense blue eyes, but it was the intelligence behind those eyes that captured the attention.

I can only say in his passing, I am deeply saddned.

Christmas Reflections...

Christmas is a time for friends and family. They ARE the holiday. It draws families together, and makes friends appreciate just how lucky they are to have these special people in our lives. It’s a manic time, rushing to get presents, wrap them, decorate, parties and dinners. But it’s a happy time, for giving is what makes it rare, special. It’s giving love, and that always warms the heart, so much more than getting.

As we age, the kids grow, then it’s a little harder to hold onto that magic of childhood Christmases. Why I love watching A Christmas Story and Ralphie’s quest for a Red Rider BB gun. Times were simpler then. It must affect Ted Turner the same way, since TNT runs twenty-four hours of the movie every Christmas.

I cherish images from Christmases past. Those memories live bright and shining in my mind.

Times change. Christmas is no more the hunt for a Barbie Doll, a bike or a BB gun. Kids want their own computers, cell phones, I-phones, MP3 players…lol, stuff that was only seen in Bond Films when we were kids. And this Christmas is harder than most for so many. I have so many dear friends going through troubled times. Several have had surgery, others face surgery come the first of the year, and too many of our sons and daughters are still overseas fighting in a war that is coming to parallel Vietnam. We little understood that war; we little understand this one. We just know our precious children are dying in some foreign place and have no real idea why. BRING THEM HOME. American needs to take care of America. The billions spent on this war could do so much good at home.

Recently they extended unemployment because of the recession. Recession. It’s been a long time since we have heard that word, but that’s what the US economy is seeing. While the US government is wasting billions in fighting a war with no end, people on unemployment were seeing it run out. Families face a bleak Christmas this year because our government would rather send billions overseas, than millions at home for the people who are in need.

Some of you are asking me how Diane Thompson is doing. She is the sister of Dawn Thompson and lost her job while nursing Dawn in her final hours and hasn’t been able to find a job since. Diane “Candy” has a hard time walking, has no car and is far from a bus line, so it’s really made it hard. One job was perfect for her, but they took one look at her wobbling gate and turned her down. The world is just not accessible to someone who cannot get around good, who cannot stand for eight hours at a cash register. Her unemployment was extended 7 weeks, not 14 like most of the nation. New Yorkers didn’t get the full extension. It’s allowed her to stay in her apartment until January, at which time she faces an eviction notice. She is 61 ½ years old, not old enough yet for Social Security. So she is facing a very dismal start of the New Year. She won’t get Social Security until she is 62 (July). She needs medical help bad, but the government won’t give it to her until the unemployment runs out. So she is getting by…just barely. Christmas is very bleak for her. I sent her a small gift, a music box to cheer her. Not too expensive as I knew she could use the money to make ends meet. I used the rest to pay her phone bill so they wouldn’t cut it off. I found a wonderful place that makes delicious meals, which are sealed and can be delivered, so she will have a good Christmas dinner. It’s so sad that Dawn had such a struggle the last year of her life, and now her sister is going through the same thing.

Why friends and families are so important. They are there in hard times. It’s a Christian duty to help, and truly, giving makes you feel so good.

So treasure those precious friends and family…we lose too many of them.

Then it’s too late to say I love you.

While Vania and her lady attendants make good their escape, Ben steps through the door to detain the soldiers seeking Lady Vania for the king.

He finds himself back in Coronado National Park giving a tour lecture for tourists. One of the tourist, Viviana Dahl, asks him a question about "sky islands". The question brings Ben a revealing flashback.

Ms. Bell mixes the supernatural and firm Faith in God together to create a story about Mitch Ferguson, a soldier in Iraq in the summer of 2005 and his fiancé Annie who lives in Round Rock, Texas. Mitch and Annie seem to have a perfect love with a bright future ahead until Mitch is wounded.

Wounded and bitter Mitch comes to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. His interaction with his family and with Annie makes the reader doubt that he will ever be able to truly "Be Home For Christmas". This story seems so real it makes the heart ache.

"Counterpoint" by Erin E. M. Hatton

Counterpoint, a method of combining melodies, seemed to be what Eve and Pete had done when they married twelve years ago. They had blended to make beautiful music. Now, Eve sits by Pete's bed at the hospital. He is unconscious from a car wreck that he had while with another woman.

Gabe, the man who introduces himself as the hospital chaplain, reaches out to Eve as she sorts through the past and wonders about what the future may hold. He listen and hugs her with compassion then tells her that Pete is at fault but it is up to her to decide what to do with it – does she let go of the pain and forgive or does she walk away. The choice is hers to make.

When Pete regains consciousness, can "counterpoint" return or has there been to much discord?

"Light of Hope" by Jill & Julia

In 1872, winter came early to Wyoming and Jacob Richards almost froze to death before he found the house of the Matthias where Hope and her son Caleb live with her in-laws.

Little Caleb, has lost his faith in Santa but his little elf friend Lola Lewinsky assures him that Santa is going to make his mother happy this year just like Caleb asked him. Caleb can't see how with "sir" and "ma'am" being so mean to his "ma". But, with the arrival of Jacob, things begin to change and Caleb begins to hope again.

"Light of Hope" is a delight even though it has some dark spots when Hope and Caleb are so poorly treated and all under false pretense. Gooding reading!

Morgan Galloway, the man she adored when she was a teenager, is also back in Pandora's Landing. He had been too old and too rich – out of her reach back then. When he and WT show up at her cabin as the "Welcome Wagon" the present becomes even more interesting than the past.

This is a "Second Chance" love story, a page-turner, with a couple of secondary characters that add a special touch of delight to the happenings -- Wiggie and WT or not to be missed.

This story makes a wonderful ending for this Christmas anthology that is a keeper –one to be enjoyed year after year.

I personally know people who have been on uneployment and it's running out. They will be facing no Thanksgiving and maybe eviction from their homes in Decemeber unless unemployment is extended.

PLEASE CALL. - the number is US Capitol, ask for the senator of your state - you don't need to know his name - just your state. His office will answer.

Tell her to have the senator vote for unemployment extention as soon as possible, so families will have a safe holiday season.

Riding the Thunder

Asha Montgomerie is the proprietor of the Windmill, which consists of a motel, swim club, restaurant, laundromat, and drive-in. She has tried to keep it in it’s original state ever since she became the owner, especially since the place is haunted from ghosts that refuse to leave. Jago Luxovius Fitzgerald Mershan is the head man for the Trident Ventures, the huge investor that wishes to purchase Asha’s horse farm and Windmill. He is the one sent to Kentucky to try to convince Asha to sell to them. When Asha first meets Jago, she considers brushing him off like most other men who eased passed her no trespass sign. Then she gets a glimpse into his green eyes, and something inside her can’t say no. Jago and Asha share some moments together as he tries his best to persuade her to sell the property. No matter how hard he pushes, she stands firm against selling. The Windmill is too rich in memories especially with the ghost residents of Tommy, Laura and the simultaneously playing jukebox. As flashbacks of Tommy and Laura creep into the life of Asha, it appears Asha and Jago are linked somehow with the young couple that was killed, and if that is the truth, they could be the next ones in line.

Riding the Thunder is a riveting and thrilling read. It certainly gets the adrenaline racing. I love the part with ‘they’re coming to take me away.’ The sudden playing of the jukebox was enough to send shivers down my spine. I enjoyed the dialogue between Asha and Jago, not to mention their chance meetings whenever they get together. The sprinkling in of the past and present, especially the songs on the jukebox, even had this reader reflecting back on many things. Deborah MacGillivray takes her audience deep into the heart of the characters. I found the wonderful cast of all the players a great asset to the storyline. There are a few humorous highlights in the book that bring on a smile with the jukebox. I love the addition of the ghosts in this unforgettable read that left a lasting impression with this reader.

Review for Fate of Camelot by Cynthia Breeding

Fate of Camelot continues the story award-winning author Cynthia Breeding began in Camelot Destiny (Kensington, August 2006). From what I understand the series will see a soon-to-be-release, Prelude to Camelot, followed by at least one more in the series. Breeding is quite at home with Grail Lore, but she doesn’t just give you the same old Camelot. She peels back the layers of these mythical figures to reveal the people, their wants, desires, needs and betrayals. She is a sensual writer, a strong writer who offers her visionary look behind the veil of ancient lore, giving flesh and blood to Arthur, Lancelot and Gwenhwyfar.

Picking up where Camelot Destiny ended, Gwenhywfar carries Arthur to the Isle of Avalon, to see him healed. The holy island is protected by the Land of the Faerie, so when Myrddin attempts to reach the isle, Cernunnos, the god of the hunt, captures Gwenhwyfar and holds her prisoner. He plans to keep her and make her his. The half-fey prince wants to change Gwenhyfar’s fate, but can he stop her destiny, especially when Morgan le Fey has plans of her own for him? Prisoner of the Flames is one of several remaining books in Dawn Thompson’s legacy, though this is under her Dawn MacTavish name. Dorchester Love Spell publishes her paranormal romances, but they wanted her straight history to go under another name in the Leisure Books line. This one actually straddles the straight history-paranormal divide because there is a paranormal element in it in the figure of Michael Nostradamus and the role he plays in the plot of the story.

Though she passed away in February of this year, there were several books already in production, so her fans will still have these final gems to treasure. Most were books Thompson wrote over a decade ago, so they reflect the style of writing that was popular then, romance edging more toward historical fiction. So if you are looking for her trademark passion, which so imbue her other lovers, be warned up front that you will find more history than romance in this story. Accept it as Historical Fiction, not Historical Romance and you will enjoy this tale.

Robert of Paxton is a wounded soul. When he was but weeks old, he was scarred in a fire that engulfed his nursery. A full grown man, now the Laird of Berwickshire, he is an amazing warrior, but one who wants more from life. He craves a wife to love him and a family. Through Violette’s help, the magistrate aids in Robert’s release. He tries to find her to say thanks, but she is gone. Immediately, Robert is under the eye of the two factions trying to control France, and unable to say out of the various political intrigues that continually suck him deeper and deeper into the madness sweeping the country, amplified by the spread of the plague. In the midst of this dangerous chaos, Robert finds a true gift in Violette, a woman who sees the real him, sees with her hands and thinks him beautiful.

Again, I caution this is not historical romance, but historical fiction. Sometimes the lines get blurred, in the ever-changing face of romance writing. What was historical romance fifteen years ago is historical fiction today, the case with this book. It’s still a marvel to read, to see the amazing talent of Thompson, how pure the beauty in her writing was.

There is Auggie Moggie, Jack, Basil, Cyril, Sinnjinn, Elvis, Edward, Bubba---and we mustn't forget Simon. Simon is a very special cat, indeed, as his owner is about to find out.

A collection of Deborah Macgillivray's award-winning short stories and novellas, plus a new novella entitled 'A Very Special Man', now presented for the first time as a set in this Collector's Edition.

MacGillivray's Cat O'Nine Tales is a collection of hot couples, wayward critters and unpredictable happenings - although all of the different short stories are united with a certain, shall we say, touch of plaid to them. (and if you hadn't guessed... there's a continuing cat presence here, as well.)

In "Bad Cat", sexual tension is immediately apparent as main character Ian tries to explain his complaints (about a demon cat) to his neighbor, who happens to be wearing a black, french cut "next-to-nothing" bikini. Poor Ian does seem to lose his focus, steak-stealing cat notwithstanding.

"Getting It In The End" is funny and indulges in a bit of double entendre and is really a writer's tale - in that some writers will surely enjoy this particular fellow getting his comeuppance.

"Double Double Toil and Trouble" kicks off with the drive up to the old once-family castle, and backdrops in this story - like the thatched cottage, and old history of illicit loves all weave together to produce a mid-length saga with a surprising depth.

Heart-broken Ciara MacIain dominates "Rider in the Storm" for a tale with more dark drama. She is the 'woman with nothing to lose,' but events conspire to assure her otherwise; although we learn a little bit about 'making wishes' that maybe we would be happier not.

"From Devil in Spurs" to the "Blue Christmas Cat", surpise, humor, sensuality, and a gamut of other emotions jockey for position. Felines, (strong-minded, attitudinal felines for the most part) also feature here. And- there's just no telling what will be padding in around the next corner!

All of the stories in this collection are wonderfully readable; the development of characters, backgrounds, and cat behaviors are all effortlessly believable. The stories are engaging and amusing and certainly worth re-reading.

MacGillivray's collection of lively (and frequently Scottish-inspired) romances interspersed with a wealth of humor offers endless laughter and one hot new character after another. From Highland Castles to downtown anywhere, Florida, there's at least one special and maybe memorable story here for every romance fan.

Johnny’s Fortune by Leanne Burroughs

Johnny was entranced by Rosemary in high school but she was younger than he and what would his friends say if he were with her? He had a reputation to uphold. But now they are adults and things are about to change.

Johnny and Rosemary find their attraction to each other seems larger than life, yet they still need to deal with issues and find out if what they truly want is right in front of them or doomed before it has a chance to grow?

I admire the characters in this story and how they handled themselves and their issues. Even though this is a short story, it left me with a warm, glowing feeling and rooting for this couple to end up together.

The Way Home by Rebecca Andrews

Life has once again dealt Brody Justicea a horrible blow. He is in a nasty storm with fog, ice, rain, snow and boulders falling around him. When he swerves to avoid one, he collides with another car making his already bad year worse.
Abby Montgomery is in that other car. When she awakes, she has lost most of her memory, barely remembering what happened. With no place to go and not knowing who she is, she accepts an offer from Brody to recuperate at his place.
Abby and Brody are troubled people at their meeting. They need to deal with what is inside them before they can move forward with the intense attraction they feel for each other. But is it possible that one of them cannot do that?
Bittersweet describes this story; heartache and tenderness combine to make an emotional read that you will regret it if you miss it.

Heartfelt by Patty Howell

Cela Donovan is having a strange week. She keeps running into a young girl named Essie who insists she knows Cela. Yet, Cela cannot remember this child no matter how hard she tries. What a puzzle it becomes when she meets Essie’s father. The sparks between them shine bright.

Ben Wright has had a tough year. His wife died in a terrible accident and he is raising his daughter with the help of his sister. Now Cela has dropped into his life and he is so smitten he wants to be with her always.

When Ben tells Cela something she does not know; it could be the end of what they have started. He does not want to do it, but if she learns from another source, she may think he wants to be with her for the wrong reasons. He cannot do that to her or his daughter.

Miracles seem to be a part of this story. Fate is directing this couple on a wondrous course that is an emotional rollercoaster. This is a very heart-touching read.

Window Wonderland by Isabel Mere

Ben Lightson is not in the mood for the holidays. They seem to make him even more miserable and cantankerous. That is until he sees the light flickering on the card and thinks he is going crazy.

Lady Vania Dahl is from the year of our Lord sixteen hundred and forty-four. She is in hiding from her betrothed, a prince she refuses to marry. When she meets Ben, who seems to appear out of nowhere, she is more than intrigued with him.

Ben and Vania have come together from two different times and places, yet they have a strong attraction to each other. They allow their feelings to be fulfilled before Vania must flee and Ben finds his way back home.

Strangely entertaining describes Window Wonderland. Such a large amount of imagination has gone into this story. It makes you smile and wonder “hmm..what if?”

I’ll Be Home for Christmas by Amber Dawn Bell

Mitch Ferguson joined the Marines because he loves his country and is willing to fight to the death for it. Death is almost exactly what happens to him when he is seriously injured by a roadside bomb in Iraq. His whole world is now changed.

Annie has loved Mitch since grade school and has worried about him since the moment he left for Iraq. She wants to spend the rest of her life with him, only fate has something else in store for them. When he is injured, Mitch pushes her away.

Both Annie's and Mitch’s life have changed to something they never thought could happen. She does not want to go on without him and he doesn’t want her to see him as half a man. Can this couple get a Christmas miracle to save them from ending their life together?

Such turmoil these characters go through. This is a very realistic story that can happen to anyone and grabs your gut from the beginning, leaving you breathless in anticipation of the outcome.

Counterpoint by Erin E.M. Hatton

Eve’s marriage is crumbling and fast. She and her husband cannot seem to get along. In her opinion he is being a stubborn fool about everything. She works hard raising their children and keeping house, so why does he argue with her instead of helping out once in awhile?

Pete is frustrated and exhausted. He feels that all he does is work, work, and more work but never seems to get anywhere. His marriage is a mess. After another fight with Eve, he decides to go with another woman and ends up in the hospital in critical condition.

Eve’s mind races with all kinds of thoughts while keeping vigil at Pete’s side. She is angered by his betrayal. Is this the end of her marriage whether he lives or dies? A stranger comes to offer help and to take her mind off her problems. But, will that help her situation?

Second chances are very rare. Reading this one becomes unsure whether there will even be a first chance for love let alone a second chance. Very deep emotions run in this book. An excellent soul searching read.

Light of Hope by Jill and Julia

Jacob Richards wishes he had someone to be there when he gets home, a family of his own. He vows, while driving through a sudden snowstorm, that once he makes it home he will start looking for a wife. This storm is so bad he worries that he might not get to play Santa for the town children this year. However, he will be the one who gets the biggest present this year.

Hope Matthias’ life is bleak since her husband left for the war and has not been seen since. She and her son are living with her in-laws, who treat her like a slave. She is so lonely and wants to get on with her life but she has few options to make that happen.

Hope and Jacob form a bond when he needs shelter from the storm. He is alarmed at her circumstance and offers to help her. She is unsure what to do about the situation with her husband but accepts Jacob's offer. Both feel the spark between them and hope it ignites into a roaring flame.

Deception that keeps another from love is such a shame. These two determined people decide to go for what they want against many obstacles and tell a tale of strength and love. A very good story.

Detour to Love by Deborah Macgillivray

Kaelyn Reynolds spent her summers with her aunt and uncle in Kentucky. She loved those times because she fell in love with Morgan Galloway. He was older and barely noticed her, or so she thought.

Morgan Galloway always does what he is told to do and lets people push him into things like a marriage he never wanted to be in. That was before but now he has grown and learned from those times and mistakes. After seeing Kaelyn again, he has no desire to let her get away this time.

Morgan has a glimmer of hope that he never had before of being able to be with Kaelyn after all this time. He cannot see any valid reason why he cannot be and plunges straight in to convince her that they belong together. Yet, with the way Kaelyn feels, does she really need that much convincing?

Being true to oneself is the great lesson this story offers. Follow your own heart as this couple learns to do. A sweet romantic tale that leaves you with a smile on your face is what you will find in this read.

Each of these stories is well-written and will stand-alone and when grouped together, they pack a powerful punch. Each author shares exceptional characters and a multitude of emotions ranging from grief to elation in their stories. You cannot help being able to relate to these stories that touch your heart and will entertain you at any time of year, not just the holidays. I feel honored to have been able to sample the works of such talented authors.

Last Friday the 8th, I lost one of the dearest of people to
ever touch my life. Author Dawn Thompson died. With her passing
the world lost one of the most beautiful writers I have read.
She was a true storyteller, one who not only wrote amazing novels,
but did so with such beautiful craft.

She became a mentor, a friend and finally I second mother.

The last words she spoke to me were, "Don't forget me."

I won't.
